Project examples

Students can complete a substantial consulting project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.

Students in Colorado State University Global's Information Technology programs can complete projects for a range of areas. Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:

  • Emergency responses on a local or national scale to situations like pandemics, threats to security and safety, natural disasters, etc.
  • Integration of policy surrounding cybersecurity
  • IT Project management
  • Developing new cybersecurity applications or improving existing applications
  • Analyzing data from cybersecurity incidents
  • Implementation and deployment of new cybersecurity applications
  • Penetration testing of new applications
  • IT infrastructure management
